Each PDF or image you generate in your account uses 1 credit, however many pages it has. No page-count multipliers, no data-size multipliers, no exceptions.
A final document made through the API uses 1 credit from the same monthly allowance as the app, taken only after the PDF has been made. Previews (watermarked) and checking a request use no credit, but they are limited: up to 30 previews an hour and 200 a day for each API key, and 60 an hour and 300 a day for each account; every API key may also make 120 requests a minute. Repeating a request with the same Idempotency-Key within 24 hours returns the same document and uses no credit.
You can upgrade from Free to a paid plan at any time; the new plan and its credits apply as soon as your payment is confirmed. On a paid plan, you can switch between Starter and Pro in Settings. Upgrading takes effect immediately: you pay the prorated difference and your balance is set to the new plan's allowance. Downgrading takes effect at the end of the period you've paid for. No. Credits are a monthly allowance, not a balance you build up. Each plan gives you a set number of credits for each monthly period (Free 50, Starter 2,000, Pro 10,000), and unused credits don't roll over. On a paid plan, your credits reset to your plan's allowance at the start of each monthly period you've paid for; yearly plans reset monthly too.
You keep your paid plan and the credits you have until the end of the period you've paid for, and Settings shows when it ends. Until then, you can change your mind with "Keep my subscription" in Settings. After that you're on the Free plan, and your balance resets to 50 credits a month.
Yes. If you start a paid plan and change your mind, email support@kouteisystems.com within 14 days of your first payment and we'll ask Paddle, our merchant of record, to refund it in full. We also refund billing mistakes, such as a double charge, if you ask within 14 days of the charge. Our Refund Policy has the details.
We accept all major credit/debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. All payments are processed securely by Paddle, our merchant of record.
Generation is blocked until you upgrade your plan or wait for your monthly reset. No surprise bills.
